Saudi Defense Minister Voices Concerns Over Israel in Meeting with Iran’s Leader
WANA (Apr 18) – The Director of Public Relations at the Office of the Supreme Leader of Iran wrote that during his meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the Saudi Defense Minister expressed concern over the Zionist regime’s expansionist actions in the region.
Seyyed Mehrdad Seyyed Mahdi shared on social media Friday that the Saudi Defense Minister stated: “The crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon have further revealed its true nature.”
Khalid bin Salman, the Saudi Minister of Defense, delivered a message from the King of Saudi Arabia to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Thursday evening.
In the meeting, the Supreme Leader emphasized: “We believe that ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia will benefit both countries, and that they can complement each other.”
Highlighting that the expansion of bilateral relations has adversaries, he added: “These hostile intentions must be overcome, and we are ready to do so.”
Pointing to some of Iran’s advancements, Ayatollah Khamenei stated that Iran is prepared to assist Saudi Arabia in various fields.
He further stressed: “Cooperation and mutual assistance among regional brothers is far better than relying on others.”
The meeting was also attended by Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces.
During the discussion, Khalid bin Salman expressed great satisfaction, saying: “I have come to Tehran with the mandate to expand relations with Iran and enhance cooperation in all fields. We hope that the constructive talks held will pave the way for even stronger ties between Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
